Beautiful winter landscape with winter hiking trail in Hexenwasser Söll

Adventure winter hiking trail Hexenwasser

The picturesque 2.2 km long winter hiking trail to the Stöcklalm leads across snow-covered fields and offers breathtaking views of the Hohe Salve right from the start of the season. Along the way, rest areas with benches invite you to linger. Everywhere you can discover small and large natural wonders, such as icicles, snow flowers, and fascinating light plays. Depending on the weather, you can also admire lovingly crafted snow sculptures along the path.

From the mountain station of the Hexenwasser gondola in Hochsöll, you hike past the "Blauen Wunder" (a self-catering room with indoor play area) to the new "enchanted winter wonderland" with a gingerbread house and natural ice rink. Here, with a bit of luck, you might meet the winter witch by the campfire.

Continuing on, after crossing the ski slope, head towards the Hexenschirme. Upon reaching the maple treehouse with the suspension bridge, take a right and go steeply uphill for a short distance. Along the edge of the forest, you can then take the steeper and more challenging "Holzweg mit Erdrutschen" downhill (only for very sure-footed hikers in good weather) or continue straight ahead at a leisurely pace and enjoy the view of the Hohe Salve. Along the way, you'll find the turnoff to the Erdhöhle (earth cave) on the left before continuing slightly downhill to the Stöcklalm inn. After a cozy stop, you can hike back directly along the ski slope to the Hexenschirme and return to the starting point in Hochsöll. In total, there are 100 meters of elevation to overcome.

Tip:

For families, there is a new "Witch Rally" on the winter hiking trail. Five little witches have hidden along the path and need to be found. If you solve the puzzle and figure out the secret word, you'll receive a reward at the "Rabennest."
